Check out the Events section for two upcoming walking tours in Jackson Heights!

Because in a city where more than one third the population is foreign born and in a nation where anti-immigrant sentiment has become commonplace, immigrant stories need to be heard. This projects hopes to accomplish the following:

(1). To involve community organizations, artists/artistic institutions, bloggers and local businesses as learning sites. To celebrate the everyday work of these institutions.

(2). To cultivate new audiences and supporters for community organizations. To get the word out on important campaigns around immigrant rights, worker rights, housing rights, language access and gender equality.

(3). To make immigrant NYC accessible, available and affordable to everyday people. To create a more understanding and informed culture where working class and new immigrants are included as part of the dynamic narrative of their neighborhood, city and nation.
